EACH CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

The following are NMAA sanctioned sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Spirit, Swimming/Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling.
Candidate must be a graduating senior who actively participated in one or more of the sports listed above during his/her sophomore and junior years of high school, and a minimum of two his/her senior year.
Candidate must have a GPA of at least 3.2.
Candidate’s high school transcript must be submitted.
Candidate’s ACT and/or SAT score(s) must be listed on the application (if applicable).
Applicants must submit a one page personal statement addressing the following question: What have you learned from your involvement in high school athletics/activities that has helped you overcome the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic?
Nominators must submit a one page statement addressing the candidates worthiness of this award.
A recent photograph or clear snapshot of the candidate must be submitted.
At least three letters of recommendation must be submitted. One must be from a candidate’s coach/sponsor, and one must from a candidate’s teacher
Candidate must graduate from high school during the year of application and begin college the following fall semester.

TIPS ON COMPLETING THE APPLICATION/NOMINATION PACKET

1. Read the requirements listed above carefully.
2. Be sure to fill out the application/nomination form completely.
3. Applications/nominations must be submitted by February 1.
4. Submit all materials together to insure that all information is received.
5. Incomplete application/nomination packets will not be considered.
