EACH CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

The following are NMAA sanctioned sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Spirit, Swimming/Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling.
The following are NMAA sanctioned activities: Athletic Training Challenge, Bowling, BPA, Chess, Choir, Concert Band, DECA, Drama/One Act Play, Educators Rising, English Expo, Esports, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, JROTC, Mock Trial, Powerlifting, Scholastic Publications, Science Fair, Science Olympiad, Skills USA, Speech and Debate, Student Council and TSA.
Candidate must be a graduating senior who actively participated in at least three sports or two sports and one activity throughout his/her high school career (in the sports/activities listed above).
Candidate must attend a trade/technical school or program that is accredited by some professional organization and provides either certification, licensure, or degree.
Candidate must have a GPA of at least 2.5.
Candidate’s high school transcript must be submitted.
Candidate’s ACT and/or SAT score(s) must be listed on the application (if applicable).
Applicants must submit a one page personal statement describing the area of study he/she wants to enter, listing potential opportunities of where this training can be obtained, and explaining the ultimate goal of entering the vocational program.
Nominators must submit a one page statement addressing the candidate’s worthiness of this award.
A recent photograph or clear snapshot of the candidate must be submitted.
One must be from a candidate’s coach/sponsor, one from a candidate’s teacher, and one from a business owner or other professional that has worked with the candidate.
Candidate must graduate from high school during the year of application and begin schooling the following academic year.

 

 

TIPS ON COMPLETING THE APPLICATION/NOMINATION PACKET

1. Read the requirements listed above carefully.
2. Be sure to fill out the application/nomination form completely.
3. Applications/nominations must be submitted by February 1.
4. Submit all materials together to insure that all information is received.
5. Incomplete application/nomination packets will not be considered.
