About the Lt. Col. Cecil A. Lynn, Jr. Scholarship
The Lynn Family awards scholarships to student athletes that will excel in school and in life. There is no expectation of college sports participation. The family reviews all applications with a single focus: Does the applicant espouse the values and dedication to their academics, activities, and athletics sufficient to demonstrate that they are prepared to succeed after high school? While the scholarship is open to all participants of NMAA sports and activities, the scholarship has traditionally, but not exclusively, been awarded to student athletes in small communities. Past recipients of the scholarship have included students from: Espanola Valley High School, Artesia High School, Melrose High School, Cobre High School, and Eldorado High School.
